Mediaversa BV processes personal data of its customers, prospects, and other contacts. This privacy statement explains which data Mediaversa BV processes, when, why, and how.
When does Mediaversa BV collect (personal) data?
This privacy statement applies to the processing of personal information and data provided by customers, prospects, and other contacts when requesting and using our services and when visiting our website. We also collect data when you subscribe to our newsletter, request information, ask a question, respond on our website, or otherwise contact us .
What (personal) data does Mediaversa BV process?
Mediaversa BV collects contact information such as name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, bank details, and information related to previous orders and use of our services. We also store contact history, for example, when you contact our customer service. If you use our helpdesk, we need your contact information and may retain the content of conversations to provide you with better service in the future and to improve our own information provision.
In addition to the personal data you provide to Mediaversa BV, Mediaversa BV may collect, record, and process additional personal data about your use of our services and website(s). Depending on the services you purchase from us, Mediaversa BV stores traffic and location data. This data relates solely to your communications, not the communications themselves.
We also collect information about the devices you use, such as a unique device ID, the operating system version and settings of the device you use to visit our website, as well as information about the use of our website(s), such as the time you visit and the topics you view. Responses (opens and clicks) to our emails are also recorded at an individual level.
Why do we process (personal) data?
Mediaversa BV processes personal data to provide its services. For example, we store data for account creation, financial administration, and, of course, domain name applications. Mediaversa BV also needs data to answer questions, handle complaints, and process any refunds. After placing an order, a quote and invoice number are linked to your account.
We also store your IP address for security reasons. This allows us to track the IP address used to log into your account and to make changes. Mediaversa BV also stores other traffic and location data to facilitate its services and/or for administrative and financial processing.
Mediaversa BV uses cookies on its websites. We do this to analyze our websites and ensure optimal functioning, to improve our services, for social media, and to display relevant advertisements on other websites. Read more about this in our cookie statement.
Third party recipients
Mediaversa BV uses systems or services from third-party suppliers, and these suppliers may also have access to our customers' data. Some of our suppliers are located in the US. These parties are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield or have contractual agreements with them regarding an appropriate level of security.
Mediaversa BV acts as an intermediary (registrar) for the application, allocation, and potential use of a domain name. Your application will be forwarded to the relevant registration authorities, such as the Foundation for Internet Domain Registration in the Netherlands (SIDN). This authority will decide on the allocation of your domain name. To enable registration, Mediaversa BV will share your application information (contact details (name, email address, telephone number, and postal address)) with these authorities.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, everyone has several rights. You can request access to Mediaversa BV's personal data. We will also explain how and why we process it. If Mediaversa BV processes incorrect or incomplete data, we will correct it at your request. You can also request deletion. Mediaversa BV may still be required to process the data for other purposes (administration, tax retention). If you suspect that we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can also have that processing restricted. You can also object to the processing of your personal data for marketing or other purposes. The right to data portability is new under the GDPR. You can ask Mediaversa BV to transfer your personal data. Finally, you can withdraw consent you have given to receive the newsletter or other processing.

Security
Mediaversa BV has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures and monitors and secures all its services (invisibly) against misuse and fraud. Mediaversa BV also engages third parties in the performance of its services. To the extent that these third parties process (personal) data in the performance of the relevant services, they do so in the capacity of processor. The processor in question naturally receives only the necessary data and is (contractually) obligated to maintain an appropriate level of security and to handle personal data with care. Furthermore, personal data is not retained longer than necessary. Mediaversa BV is legally obligated to retain traffic and location data for judicial investigation and law enforcement purposes under the Telecommunications Data Retention Act.
